Kodey Saldana is a teacher, composer, performer, and music producer.
After graduating from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, Saldana has decided to pursue a Bachelor of Music at the University of Houston.
Kodey has been recognized for many of his accomplishments, most notably receiving the Jason Moran Scholarship and the Hirsch Scholarship Endowment.Throughout his career, Kodey has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Jeff Goldblum, Kyle Turner, Jalen Baker, Armir Lee, Jamire Williams, Jerome Gillespie, Dave Meyers, and John Yao.
Currently, Kodey creates and works on his craft in the sound archive at 5301.18a Polk Street in the Arts and Culture Lab. Through this residency there have been many collaborations with local artists such as SippinWesson, Facetime Frostie and Marwan Ghonima. In addition to this Kodey hosts a radio series with his longtime friend George White known as, Temp Radio.
His most recent work has been with the help of Marwan Ghonima. Under the alias of [montagem] they aim to bring people together in environments where they are forced to be present and reactive. These performances can be found in spaces around Houston such as their own studio, the Mucky Duck, Creative artists collective, or Buried Seeds
